WATERPROOFING — COMMON QUESTIONS

What standard does your waterproofing comply with?

All our waterproofing work complies with Australian Standard AS 3740 (Waterproofing of Domestic Wet Areas). We issue a Certificate of Waterproofing on every job — required for insurance, inspections and property sales.

Do I need to strip out my tiles to fix a leaking shower?

In most cases, yes. Surface sealants are a temporary fix. The only permanent solution is a full strip-out, re-waterproofing with a two-coat membrane system, and re-tiling. We assess every job and give you an honest recommendation.

Can you waterproof a balcony or terrace?

Yes. We waterproof balconies, terraces and alfresco areas using systems designed for external exposure — including correct falls to drains, penetration sealing and membrane systems rated for outdoor use.

How long does waterproofing take?

A standard bathroom waterproofing job (strip-out, membrane, cure time) typically takes 2–3 days before tiling can commence. We'll give you a clear timeline with your fixed-price quote.

Do you provide a Certificate of Waterproofing?

Yes — on every job, without exception. The certificate documents the membrane system used, the areas covered and compliance with AS 3740. It's essential for building inspections, insurance claims and resale.
